Wasps chairman Mark Rigby has played down any notion that the club will immediately seek to buy or build their own stadium after the consortium led by Ken Moss finally completed their takeover of the side on Friday.

It is unclear what role Moss will play at the club with Wasps saying on Friday that this will be disclosed in due course. Rigby is currently holding down the chairmanship of the club and he claims that Wasps will stay at their rented Adams Park home for a "minimum of two seasons and probably three".

Rigby claims that the club is still "haemorraghing" money with the Guardian reporting that Wasps will announce a "£2m loss in its next trading figures" and season ticket sales are down. The chairman therefore wants to stabilise the off-field side of the club before making grand plans.

"Rather than run off on day one and try and find a stadium deal, it would be a insult to the creditors who have supported us through this trading period when money has been very tough," Rigby said. "They believed we would get across the line and then they would get paid. We have to stabilise the integrity of the company before we think of multi-million pound stadium deals.

"Frankly if I was a creditor I would be insulted if that was the first pronouncement. I'd say 'sort my bill out first please'."
