Forward Tom Savage has signed a new three-year deal with Gloucester.

The 23-year-old is rapidly establishing himself as a key man at Kingsholm after making 12 starts last season and is well on his way to surpassing that total already this season. And director of rugby Nigel Davies admitted that Savage has been one of the stand-out performers following his arrival at the club in the summer.

"Tom's proof that you don't necessarily need to have been capped at U18 or U20 level, or come through an Academy, to make it to first team level," said Davies. "He's got real talent, but he allies that with hard work, a genuine desire to continually improve his game and a willingness to play wherever the team need him to.

"I can't speak highly enough of his attitude and his performances this season. He's become an integral part of the squad and his new contract is a reflection of that. I'm very happy that Tom will be a part of what we're looking to achieve here at Gloucester Rugby over the next few seasons."
