London Welsh have drafted in Rob Lewis on loan for the rest of the season from the Cardiff Blues.

Lewis left the Exiles at the end of last season for the Blues but the 25-year-old will now return to London Welsh and will offer another option at scrum-half. He played at Old Deer Park for three seasons during which time he appeared on 80 occasions.

The scrum-half has turned out for Wales on the Sevens scene and also at age-grade level. And he is delighted to be rejoining the Exiles. Lewis said: "It's good to be back, I've missed the place and I've missed the boys. It's always been a club close to my heart.

"I've been following their results closely this season, and it's nice to be back to be a part of it once again. I'm not surprised by the start the club's made to the Aviva Premiership, there's always been a good core of boys here."

Exiles head coach Lyn Jones added: "Rob played a huge part in the club's Championship success and we welcome him back to London Welsh with open arms."
