Gloucester Rugby director Nigel Davies is looking to Andy Hazell to help England openside Matt Kvesic develop his game at the Cherry and Whites.

Kvesic made his debut for England in their summer Test series win over Argentina and despite being aged just 21, he already has substantial Aviva Premiership experience under his belt following his spell with Worcester Warriors. And Davies has praised Kvesic for his attitude so far and is hopeful the older members of the Gloucester squad will do their part in developing the promising openside.

"Matt is the complete pro," Davies told The Gloucester Citizen. "It's amazing he's only 21, he's very professional, very competitive, a real winner, and he's going to play a major part in our season, there's no doubt. It's pretty much a perfect situation, an ideal scenario to have Andrew Stanley and Andy Hazell there, with Matt Kvesic coming through."

"It's an amazing scenario, you've got Andy Hazell who has been there and done it, and I'm sure he'll be imparting some of his knowledge to Matt - maybe not all of it, because he'll want to play as much as possible, of course, too! But Andy will certainly help Matt progress and hone his position-specific talents."
