Bath Rugby made easy work of rivals Bristol on Saturday beating their neighbours 69-5 at the Recreation Ground.

Andy Robinson is taking charge of his first full season for the Championship side but Bath showed them no mercy as they put 11 tries on their rivals. Flanker Matt Gilbert opened the scoring for Bath with a double and his efforts were followed by Charlie Beech and Tom Dunn as they grabbed further tries before the break. Fautua Otto went over for Bristol just before half-time but it proved to be nothing more than a consolation as Bath scored seven more in the second 40. Semesa Rokoduguni grabbed a brace with Kyle Eastmond, Matt Banahan, Tom Biggs and David Wilson also scoring for the home side with referee David Rose also awarding them a penalty try.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Exeter Chiefs secured an impressive 23-15 win away at the Scarlets. Damian Welch went over early for the visitors but the Scarlets got back into the game with tries from Gareth Davies and Jordan Williams scoring. Steve Shingler kept the scoreboard ticking over and the Scarlets had a 15-13 lead at half-time. But come the second 40, it was all Chiefs with Henry Slade knocking over a penalty and a last gasp converted try from Will Carrick-Smith was enough to hand Rob Baxter's men the victory.

Wasps were also in action as they travelled to Galway to face Connacht and they came away from their trip to Ireland with a 31-17 victory. Wasps crossed for four tries in total with Joe Simpson, Sam Jones and Simon Macintyre scoring alongside a penalty try. Summer signing Andy Goode clocked up nine points with the boot while Pat Lam's side scored through Eoin Griffin with Jack Carty adding the extras.

Dean Ryan's Worcester Warriors failed to reward their Sixways support with a victory as they fell 21-17 to the Cardiff Blues on Saturday. Rhys Patchell missed five penalties for the Blues but tries from Macauley Cook and Richard Smith alongside five points from Patchell and six from Gareth Davies saw them home. Worcester's points came thanks to a try from Josh Matavesi, and four penalties from Ignacio Mieres.

Sale Sharks were also in action and they made light work of Leeds beating them 38-3 at Heywood Road. The Sharks clocked up six tries in total with Tom Arscott grabbing a double, Andy Forsyth, Mark Cueto and Sam Tuitupou all scoring alongside a penalty try. Leeds' only dent on the scoreboard was a penalty from Glyn Hughes.
