Tommy Bowe ruled out for six weeks

Ulster have been dealt a setback with the news that Tommy Bowe has been ruled out for up to six weeks with a groin muscle tear sustained during Ireland's defeat by the All Blacks.

It had been hoped he would not be out for too long but the full extent of the tear was only discovered after a scan. He will be out of action for between four to six weeks.

It means he will definitely miss this month's Heineken Cup double-header against Treviso and is doubtful for the other Pool Five games against Montpellier and Leicester next month.
