Narbonne said yesterday they had signed Argentine World Cup hooker Mario Ledesma Arocena who is set to join his country-mate and RWC golden boot Gonzalo Quesada at the Southern French club .

Ledesma Arocena, 27 yrs old, played in all five of the Pumas' matches in the 1999 World Cup including their quarter-final defeat by France in Dublin. He is one of a growing number of Argentine players in the French first division. The trend was started by Mauricio Reggiardo in 1996. More than 25 argentinean players, including 13 internationals, will play there next season.

Mario Ledesma Arocena was suspended last year for 24 games. He will appear this Saturday for his original club Curupayti, in what will be his farewell game.
