Sale Sharks' director of rugby, Philippe Saint-Andre, will make a late decision on whether Charlie Hodgson or Lee Thomas will start at fly-half in Friday's must-win EDF Energy Cup match at home to Bath.

Saint-Andre announced the rest of his starting line-up today, with England's Hodgson bracketed with Thomas, and said: "We welcome back our internationals for this game and it's a game we have to win. If we do, we could still qualify for the semi-final stages.

"I will make my mind up on whether to start with Charlie Hodgson or Lee Thomas at fly-half tomorrow.

"Bath have started the season well and won their opening group game against Leicester Tigers last week. We have already played them this season and although we led late in the game we were beaten by a late penalty.

"Games between Sale Sharks and Bath are always exciting games to watch and I am sure tomorrow will be no different."

Sale, who lost their opening Group B match 32-15 at Cardiff Blues last Friday, announced those missing with knee injuries are Magnus Lund, Chris Jones and Jason White.

White should be fit for next Thursday's European Challenge Cup game against Montpellier but Lund and Jones will be out of action for at least a month.

Also out for the Bath match are captain Dean Schofield - who picked up an ankle injury at Cardiff - Rory Lamont (ankle) and Mark Cueto (calf strain).
