Leeds Carnegie continued their march at the top of National League One with a resounding 57-5 victory over struggling Coventry at Headingley. Prolific wing Tom Biggs notched a hat-trick as Neil Back's men secured their eighth win of the season.

Coventry's afternoon had begun poorly, with the club's financial worries compounded by coach Phil Maynard enquiring about a potential postponement due to injuries in his front-row. After Leeds crossed twice in the opening five minutes through Biggs and Jonny Hepworth, he probably wished it had been granted.

Bedford Blues were also in the points over the weekend, passing the half-century against Sedgley Park. Winger Ian Davey, currently enjoying his loan period from Bath, crossed for his tenth try of the season as Sedgley Park failed to deal with a rampant Blues attack.

Exeter prop Chris Budgen secured for a hat-trick of his own as the Devon side crushed a hapless Otley 69-0 away. The Chiefs ran in 11 tries to put themselves second in the table on points-difference over Bedford.

Rotherham put their four-point deduction behind them with a resounding win over bottom placed Manchester. South African winger Eric Claassens racked up a first-half hat-trick as the Titans fought their way to a 54-35 win.

Doncaster were unable to record their first ever win over Cornish Pirate as the two sides played out a tough 24-24 draw. Pirates wing Rhodri McAtee scampered in for two scores during a committed affair, but his side was denied victory by a last-gasp penalty from Jamie Lennard with the score at 24-21.

London Welsh emerged with the points from their derby fixture with Esher after a 43-19 win at Old Deer Park. An early score from Esher's Seb Stegmann looked to have given them the advantage before Welsh replied with scores from Mark Harris, Allen Chilten and a penalty try. Welsh went into the second-half with a commanding lead that they never looked likely to relinquish.

Nottingham produced a strong showing against Newbury, running in seven tries in a 48-3 win over the struggling Berkshire side. Plymouth bounced back from their disappointing derby loss to Cornish Pirates last weekend to record a comfortable 26-17 victory over Moseley.
