London Wasps have announced the signing of promising back Tommy Bell from the Sale Sharks.

With Christian Wade putting pen to paper on a new deal at Adams Park on Monday, Wasps have increased their portfolio of promising young players with the recruitment of Bell. Bell spent the last seson on loan at Leeds Carnegie in the Championship and scooped the supporters' players of the year.

Bell is equally adept at fullback, fly-half and centre and is relishing the chance to run out for Wasps next term but will first focus on this summer's Junior World Championship. Wasps director of rugby Dai Young is similarly looking forward to seeing Bell in action.

"As a young English player with huge potential, we are delighted to welcome Tommy to the squad," Young said. "He has impressed up at Leeds last season and he'll provide us with excellent options across the backline."
