Worcester Warriors' players and management escaped injury after their team bus caught fire while they were travelling to Saturday's game against the Ospreys.

The incident took place on the M5 and footage of the fire has since been posted on the internet. The match against the Ospreys was in doubt but the Warriors have now confirmed it will go ahead, but with a later kick-off.

The club confirmed news of the fire on their Twitter account and they confirmed "all players and staff are safe and well."

Worcester coach Shane Howarth told the BBC: "Smoke started filling the bus and we got off as quickly as we could. We got ourselves a couple of hundred metres away because the flames were flying up behind it. It was a bit scary but everyone got out in one piece.

"It chills you a little bit because if it had blown up we could've been in a little bit of trouble. Thankfully whoever was looking after us made sure it didn't."
