London Wasps finished off their pre-season preparations with a comfortable 32-12 win over London Irish at Adams Park on Saturday.

Wasps put three tries on their Aviva Premiership rivals with Guy Thompson going over for their opening score after 27 minutes. Andy Goode kept the scoreboard ticking over with the boot and Wasps had a 13-0 lead at half-time. And despite Jonathan Fisher's brace of tries, they proved to be nothing more than scant consolation as Wasps pulled away in the second-half as they were on the right tend of two penalty tries. Joe Carlisle slotted a further five points to bring up their 32-point total.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Gloucester fell 28-17 to Munster at Thomond Park. The pair will meet in the Heineken Cup and Munster will hope for a repeat performance after outscoring the Aviva Premiership side four tries to three. Andrew Conway, Denis Hurley, JJ Hanrahan and CJ Stander grabbed Munster's tries while Jimmy Cowan, Steph Reynolds and Koree Britton crossed for Gloucester.

Harlequins continued their impressive pre-season form with a last-gasp 19-16 win over Glasgow at the Stoop. Quins raced into an early lead with Nick Easter and Ugo Monye scoring but Glasgow got back into the game with Scott Wight slotting a penalty and then converting Byron McGuigan's try. Wight then put Glasgow 16-12 ahead with two penalties but Matt Hopper crossed late on for Quins, who lost George Robson, Tom Williams and Danny Care to injury, to hand them a morale-boosting win.

Worcester Warriors put in an impressive showing against the Ospreys despite losing the match 23-19 at the Liberty Stadium. Worcester's preparations for the game suffered a significant setback when their bus caught fire en route to Swansea. But they came out of the blocks quickest with Josh Matavesi scoring after just three minutes. His try was then added to by David Lemi but Richard Fussell and Jeff Hassler struck back for the Ospreys. Ed Shervington then crossed for Worcester in the second-half but Ross Jones' try late on handed the home side the win.

Exeter Chiefs were also in action on Saturday and they made light work of Bristol winning 51-7 at Sandy Park. The Chiefs scored eight tries with Henry Slade adding 11 points with the boot. Their scores came from: Ben White, Slade (two), Fetu'u Vainikolo, Tom Johnson, Ian Whitten, Stu Townsend and Tom James. Fautua Otto scored a consolation effort for Bristol.

Leicester also played against a team from the Championship and like the Chiefs, they made light work of their opposition hitting Jersey for 69. Geoff Parling, Vereniki Goneva (two), Steve Mafi (two), David Mele, Adam Thompstone, Jamie Gibson, Ryan Lamb (two) and Henry Purdy all crossed for Leicester while Drew Locke grabbed one for Jersey as they crashed to a 69-7 defeat.

And Newcastle Falcons were also in action as they defeated Connacht 23-10 at Kingston Park. Ryan Shortland and Andy Higgins grabbed the Falcons' tries while Joel Hodgson slotted six points with the boot with Phil Godman adding a further seven. Willie Faloon got a consolation effort for Connacht.
