Thomas Waldrom has signed a deal to play for Exeter Chiefs next season, according to the Leicester Mercury.

The Leicester Tigers No. 8 was set to be out of contract this summer and it is reported that he has signed a three-year deal to join the Sandy Park outfit for 2014-15. The Tigers were unlikely to offer the 30-year-old a new deal, bringing an end to his four-year tenure at Welford Road - during which time he has earned selection for England.

Waldrom earned five England caps after his debut in South Africa in 2012 but this season has found himself a bit-part player behind Jordan Crane, and has started just four Aviva Premiership games. At Sandy Park he will join the likes of Tom Johnson and the highly-rated Dave Ewers in a Exeter pack which has forged a formidable reputation in recent years.
