Gloucester have confirmed Argentina second row Mariano Galarza will join the club at the end of the season.

Galarza, who has won 18 caps for Argentina, only joined Worcester Warriors in October after the end of the Rugby Championship.

"He's a very shrewd operator," Gloucester director of rugby Nigel Davies told the BBC. "He's a bright man and understands the line-out. We need strength in depth in that area and he will certainly bring that.

"Having spoken with Mariano, he is excited at the prospect of becoming a Gloucester player and is looking forward to becoming part of what is shaping up to be an exciting squad of players.

"I believe this gives us plenty of strength and depth in a hugely important area of the squad as we seek to establish a powerful forward platform for next season. Mariano is an experienced, physical operator and his signing is another statement of intent for us."
