London Irish are set to announce the signing of an Aviva Premiership-winning forward. While Brian Smith was reticent to say who, ESPN understands that Harlequins' Tom Guest is in the frame.

Speaking on his recruitment plans this year, the club's director of rugby Brian Smith gave some idea of how the Exiles are aiming to re-strengthen:

"We are moving pretty quickly. We have a couple of things that are pretty much done and are moving forward on others," Smith told GetReading.

He adds: "The bottom line is to bring in as much class as possible and we want world-class players in key positions."

Smith's Exiles have won just three of their 12 Premiership games this season, with Smith understandably looking to add more quality to his squad in time for the 2014-15 campaign.
