Northampton Saints are facing a nervous wait over the injury Dylan Hartley sustained against Leicester last weekend.

Hartley was forced off during the first-half of the fiery East Midlands derby with a shoulder injury and the Saints will now monitor his fitness over the next few weeks.

Saints forwards coach Dorian West told the Northampton Chronicle & Echo: "Dylan took a blow on his shoulder, we've had a look at that and there's a few bits and bobs in there and we'll see how he goes in the next few weeks."

The Saints will want to have their skipper back for the end of season run-in as they are currently sitting second in the Aviva Premiership and will be targeting the final on May 31. Hartley will also be in the frame to tour to New Zealand with England as they play three Tests against the All Blacks. If Hartley fails to recover in time for the tour, Leicester's Tom Youngs is the likely option to start at hooker with Bath's Rob Webber providing back-up.
