London Irish have brought in Blues fly-half Chris Noakes on a two-year deal.

Noakes has previously played for the Highlanders and then moved to the Blues. He begun the season as the Blues' first choice fly-half but is currently out with a back injury.

He will vie with Shane Geraghty for the London Irish fly-half berth next season and Brian Smith was delighted with his capture. Smith said: "Chris is a very accomplished fly half. He's a prolific goal kicker with a 75% average in the Super XV and he knows how to get a backline moving. He is also eligible to play for England and we feel he is very well suited to the European game."
