Gloucester are keen on bringing James Hook to the club, according to reports.
The Gloucester Citizen reports Gloucester met with Hook's representatives last week as the scramble for his services intensifies. When Hook signed a contract extension with Perpignan earlier this season, it looked like his future was sewn up but following their relegation to PROD2, Hook is on the lookout for a new club with a host of teams attempting to tie him down.
Reports on Monday said the Ospreys were keen on bringing Hook back to the region while Super Rugby could also be an option. The Melbourne Rebels have reportedly offered him a two-year contract while the Sharks and Stormers are also keen. London Irish were linked with Hook but ESPN understands those reports are wide of the mark and they are happy with their lot ahead of next season.
Despite all the various rumours surrounding Hook's future, only the Ospreys have set out their stall with their chief Andrew Hore telling Wales Online: "We are prepared to move heaven and earth to get James back.
"He is a wonderful bloke and a great Osprey. We've had preliminary discussions and he's very open to the idea."
