Saracens have received a welcome boost with the news that Owen Farrell has been passed fit to play in the Premiership final on Saturday.

Farrell suffered a minor ankle sprain during last weekend's Heineken Cup final defeat and had been a doubtful starter but the club has confirmed he will start the game.

"Owen's fine and fine to play on Saturday,' said director of rugby Mark McCall. "He clearly suffered a small sprained ankle, a slight ankle sprain, but Owen's fine and it's not a worry."

The prospects for Mako Vuniploa playing are less encouraging. He underwent a scan on Monday and his brother, Billy, said: I'm not too sure what the results are but he's not in the best of moods."
