The Crusaders may play their home Super Rugby fixture against the Hurricanes next year in Fiji, the New Zealand Herald reports.

The Christchurch-based franchise must find an alternative stadium for the game as their home ground, AMI Stadium, is among the venues hosting soccer's under-20 World Cup in May and June. The Herald reported that they were considering Nelson and Timaru, which have hosted Crusaders games in previous seasons, before a sponsor offered to back the game if it was played in Fiji, most likely at the National Stadium in Suva.

"We can't comment on the specifics of our Hurricanes game but it is true that venue has not been confirmed," Crusaders chief executive Hamish Riach told the New Zealand Herald. "I just can't comment. All we can say is we are continuing to work through the venue for the game."

SANZAR completed a Super Rugby draw in which New Zealand teams host the majority of their games in the earlier rounds in order to minimise disruption caused by the soccer tournament.
