Emerging talents Josh Beaumont and Mike Haley have each agreed new two-year deals with Sale Sharks, the club has announced.

Beaumont, the 22-year-old son of former England captain Bill, has established himself at No.8 this season, while Haley, 20, made his breakthrough into the first team after impressing against Munster in the Champions Cup in October.

"Josh and Mike are both great lads and we are delighted they have both agreed their new deals with the club," said Sale head coach Steve Diamond.

"Josh is a like a sponge in that he soaks up all the information and even though Nathan Hines is now back in the team, Josh is still running the line-out. He's thriving on the responsibility.

"Mike's another who has seized his opportunity with both hands. Nothing phases him and he has kicked on massively keeping a current international [Italy's Luke McLean] out of the starting side.

"Both lads have taken their opportunities and if they carry on performing like they have done then they know they will stay in the team."
