England hooker Jamie George has signed a new "multi-year" contract at Saracens.

George joined the north London club in 2008 and has gone on to compete with Schalk Brits for the Saracens No.2 shirt.

The 25-year-old started last season's Aviva Premiership final, which Saracens won, and was also a part of England's 2015 Rugby World Cup squad.

George said: "I've loved every second I've spent at the club over these last six seasons, so I'm delighted to have extended my stay here.

"I really buy into what we are doing here at the club. Saracens have looked after me so well and I'm playing alongside my best mates, which means a huge amount to me.

"It's such a special environment, and if you couple that with the brilliant coaching staff that we have here, you constantly feel like you are developing as a player and as a person every single day. I'm looking forward to being able to carry on with this incredible journey at Saracens."

Saracens director of rugby Mark McCall said: "One of the big positives over the last few seasons has been the emergence of a lot of our young talent that has been grown in-house, and Jamie has been at the forefront of that.

"We are delighted that he has committed his long-term future with the club and we are all very excited to see Jamie continue to excel for both club and country over the next few years.

"Jamie served a long apprenticeship coming through the ranks, and his patience is beginning to bear fruit judging by his performances over the last 18 months. It's great news that he is the latest player to commit his future to the club."
