Wellington's All Black winger Tana Umaga is facing disciplinary action after a series of incidents in Christchurch in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Umaga was out celebrating the All Blacks' Tri Nations victory over South Africa when he was videotaped being led away from the Christchurch city centre after midnight.

The video was broadcast on New Zealand tv on Sunday evening and All black management was forced to accept that Umaga was drunk but not involved in any other incidents. There had been earlier allegations that Umaga was abusive and looking for a fight.

All Black manager Andrew Martin said, ' It was clear he was heavily intoxicated and we are extremely disappointed. It is unacceptable he was in that condition and I will be speaking to him. There is no point in letting these things linger, but at the same time we want to give him some space and support.'

Following their triumph over the Springboks the All Blacks have dispersed until Thursday when they will gather again at the Institute of Rugby at Massey University in Palmerston North. It will be interesting to see what action will be taken against Umaga, one of the All Blacks sensational successes this season.
