Sam Burgess could make his Bath debut on Friday evening after he was named on their bench for the match against Harlequins at the Recreation Ground.

Burgess arrived at Bath with a fractured cheekbone - an injury he sustained in his final match for the Rabbitohs in the NRL Grand Final - but he has impressed in training and Mike Ford has thrown him straight into first-team action. Ex-league star Burgess, who comes with a huge billing after his huge success in Australia, is likely to start his career in the centres after being named as No.22 for Friday.

Ollie Devoto gets the nod for Bath at fly-half with Gavin Henson shifted to fullback and Semesa Rokoduguni and Matt Banahan named on the wings. Kyle Eastmond and Jonathan Joseph link up in the centres.

For Harlequins they make three changes to the side that played Sale Sharks last week. In the backs Danny Care and Aseli Tikoirotuma start at scrum-half and wing respectively while Jack Clifford gets the nod at blindside.
