England have made two changes to their starting line-up for Saturday's Calcutta Cup clash against Scotland at Twickenham.

Mike Brown returns at fullback in place of Alex Goode while Courtney Lawes comes back into the second-row replacing George Kruis, who drops out of the matchday squad.

On the bench Geoff Parling and Tom Wood are named in the place of the dropped Kruis and injured Tom Croft.

For Brown, he retakes his spot at fullback after missing their loss in Ireland after sustaining a knock to the head against Italy while Lawes is back in the side for the first time since their win over Australia in November.

"There's always a lot of competition for places and having experienced players like Courtney, Tom and Geoff available after playing well for their clubs in the last few weeks adds to our options," Stuart Lancaster said. "It's been an intense two weeks of training as everyone wants to be on that field on Saturday and we have had to make some tough selection calls.

"Coming back to Twickenham will be huge for us and we are determined to put in a performance against a strong and motivated Scotland team."

England:

Mike Brown, Anthony Watson, Jonathan Joseph, Luther Burrell, Jack Nowell, George Ford, Ben Youngs; Joe Marler, Dylan Hartley, Dan Cole, Dave Attwood, Courtney Lawes, James Haskell, Chris Robshaw (captain), Billy Vunipola

Replacements: Tom Youngs, Mako Vunipola, Kieran Brookes, Geoff Parling, Tom Wood, Richard Wigglesworth, Danny Cipriani, Billy Twelvetrees
