Connacht have bolstered their midfield ranks with the signing of Kyle Tonetti until the end of the current season.

The 24-year-old centre joins from Sale Sharks where he made 14 appearances in the Aviva Premiership for the Edgeley Park side last season. Tonetti has represented Ireland at age-group level and joins fellow 2007 U20 Six Nations Grand Slam winners Andrew Browne, Paul O'Donohoe, T J Anderson and Niall O'Connor at the Sportsground.

Connacht head coach Eric Elwood was delighted to welcome his new signing saying: "I'm really looking forward to working with Kyle again, having known him since the '07 U20's team that won the Six Nations and I'm sure he will fit nicely into the squad. We're looking forward to him joining up with the team and working with him again."
