Fly-half Ruaridh Jackson was annoyed after missing two match-winning opportunities in the RaboDirect PRO12 derby draw with Edinburgh at Murrayfield.

The Scotland No.10 was influential as the Warriors responded from a 10-point second-half deficit to draw 23-23 last night, setting up a try for Colin Shaw before scoring one himself three minutes from time. But Jackson missed the subsequent conversion and a later penalty in blustery winds as the spoils were shared.

Jackson said: "I was pretty frustrated at the end. The conversion for my try I thought I'd hit it pretty well and thought it was going to go over. That's part of my job, to get those kicks, and we should've won it.

"The wind was hard out there, but I still feel I should've got it. But I'm pretty happy to have got on the scoresheet with the try and put a bit of pace into the game."

Jackson had come on in place of Duncan Weir but does not know if he has done enough to earn a start in next week's return at Firhill. He added: "I'll wait and see."

Edinburgh's points came courtesy of Tim Visser's try double, a Ross Rennie try and eight points from Greig Laidlaw's boot. Visser took his try tally to 12 in all competitions this season, with two in three second-half minutes, but was unhappy to miss out on victory.

Visser said: "I'm disappointed. The way the boys were in the changing room it felt like a loss. We take what we can. We'll take the two points and it makes the return at Firhill a bit more interesting.

Visser's tries were both awarded after the intervention of the television match official in marginal calls. The Flying Dutchman, who in June will qualify for Scotland through residency, added: "I wasn't convinced at all. I've had a few lately not go my way and I was delighted they did."
