Ospreys head coach Sean Holley has dismissed suggestions that Scott Johnson should step down as director of coaching before the end of the season.

Johnson recently confirmed that he would be leaving the Welsh region at the end of the season to take up a coaching role with Scotland. And former Wales international Jonathan Davies has stated that the coach should leave his role with immediate effect to allow Holley and Jonathan Humphreys to take on greater responsibility.

However Holley said: "From an outside point of view that is a statement that is quite easy to make. I understand what Jonathan is saying and he is entitled to his opinion. But Scott will feel he still has something to achieve here.

"From my point of view he is here until at the end of the season and will continue to be a positive influence on our environment. I am pretty sure Scott will make the best use of the time he has left to further his legacy."
