Visser came to the attention of Newcastle Falcons while playing Sevens in Amsterdam and the powerful winger went on to play 34 Premiership matches for the club. After a loan spell with Northampton, he was signed by Edinburgh boss Andy Robinson in 2009.
A prolific try-scorer, he made three successive Magners League/PRO12 Dream Teams after moving to the Scottish capital, also racking up a number of top-scorer gongs. In 2012 he was instrumental as Edinburgh - under new coach Michael Bradley - made the Heineken Cup semi-finals and has stated a desire to play for Scotland once he has completed his residency.
He realised this wish when he was named in Scotland's squad for their three-Test summer tour. He scored two tries on his debut against Fiji before bagging another brace in his third game against world champions New Zealand. His strong international start continued in the 2013 Six Nations, when he scored two tries in the championship.
