Treviso thrashed Munster 34-10 on Sunday to claim one of the biggest wins in their history.

Treviso crossed for five tries in total with Ludovico Nitoglia grabbing the first score of the game after just three minutes. Filippo Giusti and Doppies La Grange also crossed before the break to make the half-time score 22-10 in favour of the hosts. Munster pinned the Italians back with a penalty try after 49 minutes but that proved to be the last time they troubled the scoreboard. Fabio Semenzato secured the four-try bonus point in the 61st minute and Giulio Toniolatti rubbed salt into Munster's wounds with another score in the 78th minute.

Elsewhere on Sunday, Zebre came close to their first ever RaboDirect PRO12 win but they eventually fell 14-13 at home to the Dragons.

In a match that saw three yellow cards - with Zebre's Alberto Benettin and Dragons' Phil Price and Nathan Buck all spending time in the sin-bin - Zebre were firmly in control at half-time with a 10-3 advantage, thanks to Matteo Pratichetti's try and five points from the boot of Alberto Chillon. But the Dragons rallied in the second 40 and six points from Steffan Jones coupled with Jevon Groves' score proved to be enough for them to edge a tight encounter.

Saturday

Leinster secured a 32-5 victory over the Scarlets in Dublin to keep pace with the top two in the RaboDirect Pro12. Centre Andrew Goodman helped Leinster into an 11-0 lead with two penalties and a try in the opening 33 minutes. Andy Fenby got the Scarlets back in it with a try five minutes before the break but second-half tries from Aaron Dundon, Jordi Murphy and John Cooney, along with three conversions from Ian Madigan, secured the bonus-point victory for Leinster.

Friday

Glasgow teed-up an intriguing RaboDirect PRO12 run in as they edged out leaders Ulster 20-14 at Scotstoun to slash their advantage at the top of the table to just four points.

Gregor Townsend's men, fresh from last weekend's record-breaking 60-3 mauling of Newport-Gwent Dragons, completed their sixth successive league victory to ensure a thrilling climax to the league campaign. Yet they flirted with disaster as stand-off Peter Horne missed all five of his goal attempts, including an embarrassing conversion effort late in the second half while stationed dead centre and just 15 yards from the posts.

However, tries from Tim Swinson, Tommy Seymour, Peter Murchie and Nikola Matawalu were enough to hold off a determined Ulster side who could only manage three successful penalties from Ruan Pienaar and Stuart Olding's second-half touchdown.

The victory thrilled a capacity 5,600-strong crowd that included Rangers manager Ally McCoist, but there were worried looks as the hosts' South African wing DTH van der Merwe was stretchered off wearing a neck brace and oxygen mask eight minutes into second half following a clash of heads. Thankfully the early prognosis from Glasgow's medics was positive and his immediate withdrawal had only been precautionary.

Connacht claimed their first-ever PRO12 away victory over Cardiff Blues, with lively flanker Willie Faloon contributing two tries in an impressive 26-22 win at the Arms Park. Although the home side recovered from an early deficit to edge in front midway through the second half, they were unable to hold off the enthusiastic visitors. The only occasion Connacht had previously managed a win in the Welsh capital was in the pre-regional era, when current coach Eric Elwood kicked them to a 6-3 success over the Cardiff club side in 2001.

Elsewhere, Edinburgh centre Nick De Luca was sent off for a dangerous tip tackle on Tom Grabham as the Ospreys secured a comfortable 24-7 victory at the Liberty Stadium. De Luca saw red four minutes from time to add misery to the Scots as they slipped to their 10th straight defeat in all competitions.

Two tries from No.8 and man of the match Morgan Allen and one from scrum-half Rhys Webb were enough to see the Ospreys home. The Edinburgh try came from flanker Hamish Watson. The win saw the Ospreys climb back into the play-off places even though they failed to gain a bonus point.
