Ulster prop Declan Fitzpatrick will return to Belfast today after receiving treatment in a Glasgow hospital for an irregular heartbeat.

Fitzpatrick suffered heart palpitations during Friday's 27-9 defeat by Glasgow Warriors and was taken to hospital that night.

In a statement, Ulster said: "[Fitzpatrick] underwent a successful procedure yesterday to correct the irregularity. He left hospital this afternoon and will return to Belfast where he will undergo further tests."

Fitzpatrick lasted just 22 minutes at Scotstoun in his first since appearance since January 10. Earlier today he tweeted his thanks to hospital staff.
