The Scarlets have bolstered their options in the backs with the signing of Frazier Climo from Taranaki.

Climo will arrive at the Scarlets in November with the delay caused by his visa application. He is likely to be used predominantly in the backs but he has played fly-half and has a good record from the boot.

"We are very pleased Climo is joining us," said Scarlets coach Simon Easterby. "He's been a standout for the provincial side Taranki in the NPC over the past few years. We look forward to what he can bring to what is already a very talented and Scarlets backline."

Climo added: "It's a region that's known and respected around the world and I am honoured to have the opportunity to link up with such a great club. Having spoken to Simon Easterby about the very young and talented squad based in west Wales, I am extremely excited to play a part in the club's ambitions this season and looking forward to linking up with everyone in November."
