Munster hauled themselves to the top of the RaboDirect PRO12 table with victory in a low-scoring match which saw Glasgow's unbeaten record end with more of a whimper than a bang. The match which was a poor advert for professional rugby, with Munster stand-off J J Hanrahan scoring the only try of the contest in a 13-6 success for the visitors. The biggest difference between the sides was Munster's ability to control the ball when they got themselves in front. They held on to the lead with relative ease for the majority of the second half.

Leinster left it late to beat Connacht who led for 76 minutes of the match. However, Leinster's scrum finally kicked into gear in the closing stages of the game and a penalty try with four minutes left on the clock, and the resulting conversion, was enough to hand the reigning champions a 16-13 win at the RDS.

Edinburgh picked up their second win with a 20-13 victory over Treviso in a mediocre match. The hosts dominated territory and possession but individual errors made for a difficult night. Greig Tonks and Willem Nel scored tries in the respective halves, with Greig Laidlaw kicking both conversions and two penalties. Treviso stuck to their task and were worthy of the losing bonus point.

Rhys Priestland scored a last-gasp penalty to hand Scarlets a 16-16 draw against Zebre at Stadio XXV Aprile. The Italian side thought they were on their way to their first victory in the competition when Luciano Orquera put them three points ahead after 77 minutes, but Priestland hit back at the death to claim a share of the spoils.

British and Irish Lions flanker Justin Tipuric scored two tries as Ospreys trounced the Dragons 40-17 at the Liberty Stadium. Dan Biggar also provided 17 points with the boot with the other tries coming from a penalty try and one for replacement hooker Scott Baldwin. But there was an injury scare for Wales and the Dragons when Toby Faletau left the field on a stretcher 13 minutes into the second half and was taken to Morriston Hospital in Swansea as a precaution.

Ulster stretched their winning run to four games in the league and six in all competitions after seeing off Cardiff Blues 39-21 in a valuable bonus point win at Ravenhill. Ulster scored five tries with second row Dan Tuohy, who grabbed the first and last, crossing the line in addition to touchdowns from man of the match Jared Payne, Luke Marshall and Ireland squad reject Andrew Trimble who grabbed the bonus point score. However, the margin of victory would have been greater if Paddy Jackson and Ruan Pienaar had been more accurate from the tee.
