Which clubs have taken part in the most European Cup semi-finals? Peter King, England

Three of this year's last four - Saracens, Clermont-Auvergne and Toulon - feature in the semi-finals for the third year running. The leading club in this respect, however, is Munster, who were in the 2013 and 2014 semis (before giving way to Leinster this year). Munster have featured at this stage eleven times.

All told, there have been 20 semi-final stages since the major European tournament was launched in 1995-96.

The full list of the 80 semi-finalists is as follows:

11: Munster

10: Toulouse

8: Leinster

6: Leicester

4: Biarritz, Clermont-Auvergne, Saracens

3: Cardiff, Llanelli, Northampton, Perpignan, Stade Francais, Toulon

2: Bath, Brive, Wasps, Ulster

1: Castres, Colomiers, Edinburgh, Gloucester, London Irish, Pau, Swansea
