Horan may make international return
September 25, 2000

The prospect of Tim Horan returning to the Wallaby ranks during their autumn tour to the UK has not been ruled out by ARU chief executive John O'Neil according to The Times newspaper.

Horan's recall to the international team would perhaps aid the side in the worrying position of inside centre. Horan himself has not played since appearing against Argentina in the summer where he picked up a foot injury.

His possible return, along with that of other Wallabies now resident in the UK
Jason Little and David Wilson, is being considered bu the ARU as they try to bolster their depleted squad.

John O'Neill, the ARU chief executive, commented, "We'll have to see how things develop. Tim Horan, Jason Little and David Wilson have retired from international football. As we speak it is pure speculation."

All three players are still under contract with the ARU, a gesture by the union to reward them for thwir service to Australian rugby.

Under international board regulations, countries have first call on a player. Horan is expected to be fit next month and François Pienaar, the Saracens chief executive, said he would not be surprised if the ARU called. "Tim is still the best in his position in the world. If they did approach him then I would think he would say yes," Pienaar said.
