Both Nico Hulkenberg and Adrian Sutil think they should be considered by Red Bull as a replacement for Mark Webber.

Webber will leave Formula One to race sports cars next season, opening up a top-level drive alongside world champion Sebastian Vettel in 2014. Kimi Raikkonen is among the favourites for the drive but Red Bull is also considering promoting one of its Toro Rosso drivers.

Sauber's Hulkenberg has been linked with a move to Ferrari in the future, but said he would be open to a drive with the world champions.

"It's a Red Bull seat that has come available because Mark is leaving Formula One and I would be stupid to deny [an interest]," he said. "Everyone would be interested in such a seat in such a team and car, but it's still early days and we'll see what happens there."

Asked why he thought he had not been among the drivers on the shortlist, he said: "I don't know, you should ask them that question."

Sutil returned to F1 with Force India this year after a season on the sidelines and thinks he should be considered for the drive.

"Yes, why not? It's a world champion team and I think a lot of drivers want to go there. I'm open and if they want my services they will let me know. It's just seven races in now and I'm here with Force India and quite happy to be here with this race team and see what the future is like. I can't really say what is going to happen."
