Christian Horner says Red Bull needs to approach the title-deciding race in Brazil "like we have the previous 19".

Sebastian Vettel's extended his championship lead to 13 points with second place ahead of Fernando Alonso in the United States Grand Prix, meaning he only needs to finish fourth to win the title in Brazil. However, Vettel snatched his first championship from Alonso in 2010 when he won in Abu Dhabi and Alonso was seventh trying to cover fellow championship rival Mark Webber, and Horner says Red Bull most only focus on itself at Interlagos.

"We've just got to approach the next race like we have the previous 19," Horner said. "We've just got to go there, attack the weekend, get the best out of ourselves, the car, the drivers, strategy, reliability, and anything can happen as we've seen this season. But it's good to be going there with a lead and we'll just go there determined to try and close the job off."

With Lewis Hamilton winning in Austin and having retired from the lead in Abu Dhabi, McLaren looks likely to challenge Red Bull for victory in the final race once again, but Horner said he could not predict which teams would be competitive in Brazil.

"We saw on Friday that there was very little time between Lewis and Sebastian; it was less than a tenth on Friday and looked like the same [in the race]. It was a good race, I think it was a great race for the fans, it was close throughout. Brazil is a different venue, maybe different weather there, who knows? But hopefully we can have a strong weekend."
