Promising fly-half Rory Clegg has signed a new deal with Harlequins that will keep him at the Stoop until 2013.

Clegg joined Quins from their Aviva Premiership rivals Newcastle in June 2009 and has made 21 appearances to date for the London club.

The 20-year-old is an England age-grade international and featured for the Under-20 side at June's IRB Junior World Championship in Argentina.

"At 20 he is one of the brightest talents in the country and I am sure over the coming years not alone will he continue to learn and develop from Nick Evans, he will also grow and put increasing pressure on Nick for the starting role," Quins director of rugby Conor O'Shea said.

"When Rory does take on that starting role, we will work to ensure that he has the skills set to do that for both club and country."
