ITM Cup
Retallick suspended for dangerous tackle
August 28, 2013

Bay of Plenty lock Culum Retallick has been suspended for two weeks for foul play in the Steamers' ITM Cup rugby match against Hawke's Bay on Sunday. Retallick was cited for lifting and tipping a player dangerously early in the first half of the fixture, won 24-20 by Bay of Plenty in Mount Maunganui.

Judicial officer Nigel Hampton upheld the citing but said that Retallick's actions were at the low end of offending. The act was not deliberate or premeditated, and a combination of factors had led to the action being dangerous, Hampton said.

Retallick will miss Bay of Plenty's matches against Auckland and Canterbury. He will be available next in the round-five match against Wellington Lions.
