Luke McAlister commits to Toulouse
February 7, 2014

Luke McAlister is staying with Toulouse for at least another two seasons, the former All Blacks inside back extending his contract at the French Top 14 powerhouse for a further two years with the option of a third.

McAlister, 30, returned to New Zealand after a stint at England club Sale to unsuccessfully pursue a place at Rugby World Cup 2011, but he has ruled himself out of contention for the 2015 tournament as All Blacks selectors consider only players based in New Zealand.

McAlister returned to training this week after nearly four months sidelined with a torn biceps injury suffered six weeks into the French Top 14 season. McAlister, who scored 153 points in 30 Tests, helped Toulouse win the Top 14 crown in 2011 and 2012.
