Cipriani training with Colorado Rapids

The Aviva Premiership kicks off this weekend, but former Wasps star Danny Cipriani is turning heads in the football world after taking part in training with Major League Soccer side Colorado Rapids.
The England fly half signed a deal with Melbourne Rebels earlier in the year and is due to head to Australia shortly, but he has pitched up in Denver and the club are of the opinion that his stay is more than just a holiday.
Cipriani has trained with the Colorado squad and has made a positive impression on the club's coaching staff.
"He is keen to explore opportunities in soccer in general and with the Rapids in particular," The Rapids' communication manager Jason Gilham told The Times.
Cipriani showed immense promise as a footballer as a youth and it was claimed he could have forged a career as a professional, only to opt for rugby union.
"I think he is looking at that possibility," Gilham added when asked if Cipriani was looking to secure a contract with the franchise. "It is something that is being looked at from both sides."
The Rebels still expect to see Cipriani make his move to Australia on October 1. "He is absolutely on board," Rebels coach Rod Macqueen said. "We have seen no evidence to say that he is not coming. We are expecting him in about three weeks."
