Glasgow Warriors derailed Wasps' campaign with a well deserved 20-10 victory in their Heineken Cup clash at the Firhill Arena that confirmed Toulouse's place in the quarter-finals.

Wasps were on course for Pool 6 showdown with defending champions Toulouse next weekend after building a 10-6 half-time lead against the run of play thanks to a try from winger Tom Varndell and the boot of fly-half Dave Walder. But Glasgow finally earned due reward for their efforts after the break with a try from scrum-half Colin Gregor with No.10 Ruaridh Jackson steering them home.

Wasps retain a slim chance of progressing to the last eight as one of the best runners up but need a big win against their undefeated French rivals at Adams Park. More realistically their hopes will centre on the Amlin Challenge Cup after they failed to find the form that would warrant a place amongst Europe's elite.

London Irish ended their run of ten successive defeats in all competitions with a 24-12 victory over the Ospreys at the Madejski Stadium. A try from Sailosi Tagicakibau and three penalties from Dan Bowden gave the Exiles a 14-6 half-time lead with Dan Biggar kicking two penalties for the visitors.

Topsy Ojo's converted try increased the Exiles' lead after the break and, while Biggar and James Hook both slotted penalties, the hosts held on for the win. The result means neither side will qualify for the competition's quarter-finals.

Instead it will be Toulon who move into the last eight after they confirmed their place amongst Europe's elite with an impressive 32-16 victory over Munster.

Jonny Wilkinson played a starring role for Toulon, contributing 22 points with the boot, while Christian Loamanu and Paul Sackey both crossed for tries. Doug Howlett had a score chalked off in the corner for Munster, who eventually found a reply through David Wallace.
