Toulon have signed England wing Paul Sackey from Wasps on a two-year deal.

Sackey announced his intentions to leave Wasps last week and follows England fly-half Jonny Wilkinson to the Stade Felix Mayol.

The former London Irish wing won the last of his 22 England caps against Ireland in 2009 and joins Wilkinson, Tom May, Joe el Abd and Kris Chesney in the club's growing English contingent.

After leaving Wasps, Sackey maintained that his decision was not financially motivated and that the chance to reignite his career with a change of surroundings was a deciding factor. Wasps director of rugby Tony Hanks admitted however that the club could not compete with the offers made to Sackey from French clubs.

"It's not about the money," he told Sky Sports News. "I've stayed at Wasps for so many years when I could have gone.

"I'm at that stage in my career when I need a new challenge; I need a new lease of life. I think a move away from Wasps at this moment in time is probably a good step for me - it will probably make me more enthusiastic about the game. I'm definitely not going for the money. I would have stayed at Wasps for a little bit more."
