Scotland could be without Graeme Morrison for their forthcoming Six Nations campaign after the Glasgow centre picked up a knee injury in their festive derby against Edinburgh on December 27.

The 28-year-old midfielder suffered ligament damage in the 30-18 victory at Firhill and missed out on the return match and Saturday's narrow loss to Munster.

Glasgow head coach Sean Lineen predicted that Morrison would miss "weeks rather than months" but he could still sit out the bulk of Scotland's campaign, which kicks off against France at the Stade de France on February 5.

"I like to think of myself as a quick healer," Morrison told BBC Scotland. "I've done this on the other knee before and I was back before they predicted.

"I'm hoping it will be around six to eight weeks, which would give me a chance to play in some of the Six Nations.

"I've been playing well this season, so to have this is a bit of a setback, but I'll just do my best to get back on the pitch."
