Bath coach Brad Davis wasted little time in turning his attention back to the Aviva Premiership after watching his side rack up their second successive 46-point haul in this season's Anglo-Welsh Cup.

A week on from defeating the Dragons 46-16, Bath hammered Worcester 46-13 at the Rec, with Tom Heathcote, Francois Louw, Matt Banahan, Jack Cuthbert, Ben Skirving, Ollie Woodburn and Nick Abendanon all touching down for the home side.

Despite their stunning start to the tournament, Davis stated afterwards: "We're not even thinking about the LV= Cup now, until January. We've got two massive games now against London Irish and Harlequins in the Premiership."

Davis admitted, though, that their Anglo-Welsh Cup successes had boosted confidence after a rather patchy, inconsistent start to their Premiership campaign.

"You can't always put your finger on the button as to why it clicks," he said. "In the first six Premiership games we have created the chances - but in the last two games we've finished them off too. The guys are feeling confident, playing good rugby.

"We coaches are going to have an interesting chat on Monday. There are some tough decisions to make."

Indeed, Davis acknowledged that the performances of youngsters Heathcote, who kicked four conversions and a penalty, and Woodburn, a constant threat on the right wing, had given the Bath coaching team plenty of food for thought.

"With the young players you never really know until you give them the chance and pitch them in," he said. "If they are good enough, the talent really starts to show through."

Davis was also enthused by the performance of South African flanker Francois Louw, whose 25th-minute touchdown was the highlight of a fine debut.

"He scored a try and it was a really good all-round performance," he said. "Whatever he is asked to do, he goes about his business really well."

Meanwhile, Worcester assistant coach Phil Davies felt that his side had not been as bad as the final scoreline suggested.

"I thought we played well for large parts of the game and had a lot of territory and possession," he said. "I was really pleased with the way the players reacted and adapted to the challenge in front of them.

"Bath had a lot of the first-team players out there and, while we are not pleased with the final score, we were happy with the performance and the way the guys reacted to the challenge in front of them.

"There were lots of good things to take out of the game, we were pleased with our application, just disappointed we didn't take more points out of the match."
