Glasgow's Wilson set for hearing

Scotland international Ryan Wilson faces a disciplinary hearing next week following his assault convictions.

The Glasgow Warriors forward was suspended by the Scottish Rugby Union earlier this week after being convicted of assaulting two men, including a fellow rugby player, during a Halloween night out in October 2013.

Wilson, who has won nine caps, was recently left out of Vern Cotter's squad for the Six Nations, which begins on February 7 with Scotland playing France in Paris.

An SRU statement read: "At today's meeting of the Scottish Rugby Board the recent trial of several Glasgow Warriors players was discussed.

"As a result Scottish Rugby will be instigating a disciplinary hearing, with its employee, Ryan Wilson in the early part of next week.

"As previously stated Ryan Grant and Rory Hughes have returned to their club and are available for selection by Glasgow Warriors and Scotland respectively.

"No further comment will be made by Scottish Rugby until the disciplinary process has been concluded."

Wilson, 25, was fined at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Tuesday for assaulting two men, including Glasgow Hawks player Ally Maclay, in a takeaway shop in the west end of the city. Charges against Grant and Hughes were not proven.
