Half-back Nic White is expecting a hostile reception in Cape Town when he makes his return for the Brumbies in this weekend's Super Rugby clash with the Stormers. The Wallabies scrum-half has recovered from an ankle injury that sidelined him for three weeks, his last match being against the Blues on April 10.

His absence has been felt at the Brumbies, who've lost two of their last three games - against the Melbourne Rebels and on Friday to defending champions the NSW Waratahs. With just a single point separating them and the Waratahs, they face an uphill battle to retain the Australian conference lead.

And it starts this week against a Stormers outfit reeling from a loss to the Cheetahs. White knows it will be a big challenge.

"We haven't managed to win over here since 2010, it's a very hostile environment and the crowd always plays a part," White said. "They're in a very similar situation to us, having come off a tight loss to a domestic rival so they'll be right up for the game on Saturday."

The clash is the first of a two-match tour of South Africa, with the Brumbies to play the Lions in Johannesburg next weekend.
