Mathew Tait has recommitted his future to Leicester Tigers after previously agreeing a move to Bayonne.

Tait signed for Bayonne back in January but with them now relegated, he has re-signed with the Tigers. Tait, who has 38 England caps, has made 70 appearances for the Tigers since he arrived from Sale in 2011 and Richard Cockerill is delighted with his decision.

Cockerill said: "Mat has enjoyed one of the most consistent seasons of his career this year and we're delighted that he has now agreed to terms on a new contract here.

"He has played at the very highest levels of the game and has a lot of experience for a player still in his 20s. We look forward to his continued input as part of the senior core of the Leicester squad."
