Preston Lodge FP under-16 team has been suspended by the SRU for the rest of the season after their match at Duns was abandoned because of foul language and play.
Duns have also been warned as to their future conduct following the ugly scenes that ruined the February 6 encounter.
Scottish Rugby Union discipline panel secretary Iain Goodall said: "The panel were appalled at the extent of the foul language and foul play at this match at under-16 level and wish to reiterate that this type of behaviour has no place in rugby."
George Patterson, president of Preston Lodge FP, who play at Prestonpans, near Edinburgh, confirmed they had already decided to take their own action to deal with the matter. He said: "We are sending out a letter to the parents and guardians of the players in our under-16s team underlining that such behaviour is not acceptable."
