Further postponement for Celtic league game
January 8, 2001

The meeting of Glasgow of and Newport - originally scheduled for 4th November and rescheduled to 26th January has been postponed again.

Newport have request a further change as four of their first team squad are included in the Welsh squad for the World Cup sevens in Argentina that weekend.

No new date has been set for the game, but Glasgow chief Executive David Jordan is looking for an alternative fixture for his side that weekend.
"We don't want to have a gap in our calendar that weekend," explained Jordan. "With the Six Nations' Championship coming up, we need to maintain continuity, and I'm trying to rearrange one of our other postponed games."

Should Glasgow's Scottish rivals Edinburgh Reivers fail to progress to the quarter-finals of the Heineken Cup the all-Scottish league game could be played on that date.
